Today has been a long day but a great one at that! My plan flight from Houston to Frankfurt consisted of reading, watching a movie, sleeping of course, and chatting it up with the German to my right and the Italian to my left. The airport in Frankfurt was very different than the US. I went through customs there and got my passport stamped, thank you very much. I saw my first gypsy which was very odd and funny at the same time. Started out by flying for 16 hrs and making it to Verona around 3:30 pm. I will admit to the world that if I drove here I would die. The streets are tiny and when the taxi driver turned, there was a split second that I swear we were going to run straight into the building ahead of us. So, yes to all of you who think I am a terrible driver... cough cough, mom, dad, mackenzie, meagan, brad, mason, etc..... today I realized just how bad I am. ha! However, the beauty of it all is that I do not need a car... I need a vespa. Yes mom, a vespa. They are EVERYWHERE.
It is pouring rain right now and is supposed to rain all day tomorrow, hence the blog title. I have never been so excited to see rain in my entire life. What gets better than opening your huge bedroom window to see the rain and a garden? Mackenzie I will be sporting the rain shoes you got me, don't you worry!
My goals (so far) are:
1: try all new foods instead of eating cheese pizza
2: rent a bicycle
3:buy a painting
4: find a wise old italian couple and chit chat for awhile
We are going to try and find an Italian church to go to tomorrow, so I am excited about that experience. I have gotten a lot of much needed reading and relaxing in:) I hope you all had a great day and enjoy the pictures!
Ciao!
