uccello morto

Bonjourno! (I am learning:)
Today has been a wonderful day! We started out by eating breakfast at the hostel which was a roll and jelly , cherry jelly which was weird to me. You got the choice of tea, coffee, or hot milk which you pour in a bowl to drink. Matt, however, thought the hot milk was soup... hilarious. After that we threw on some clothes and headed out. It was raining of course so I had on my little black rain shoes. Failure. As they flipped off of my feet and fell down the hill a few times, while rubbing blisters on my feet because we walked about 4 miles.... I got pegged as an American. ha! Mackenzie, they will work wonderfully when I get back to the flatlands:) That being said, I became LJ and bought some shoes to walk around in because we were wayyyy too far from the hostel. I know, I bought shoes first thing... real surprising. Whatever! haha. Channing and I sat and had a cappuccino which was probably the best thing I have ever tasted. We then walked around the city some more with Garrett and Andrew and explored. We went in all the little stores down the Via Capello, which is basically the 5th street of Verona. Don't worry Dad, I still have my euros! It was very fun being surrounded by all of the Italians in this atmosphere because this is the towns central piazza. We walked to the Arena, but did not go in because we will do all of the historical things later. We literally just walked around all day and did all the little things that we saw. Channing and I have decided to raft down the river because we saw a boat going down the "rapids". Oh yes, it will happen. On that note, there will be a lot more interesting information and adventures later, but for now we are just trying to get our bearings! However, I did see a nun riding a bicycle. Awesome.

Ciao!
